Our Tampa office has partnered with Metropolitan Ministries since Veredus, a Hays Company was first started. The leadership team believes in building stronger communities as well as providing excellent service. Providing both leads to success and personal growth.
Some of the Tampa recruiters and account managers recently visited a local organization called Metropolitan Ministries where they volunteered with one and two year olds on an art project, which was creating flower wall.
Rosa Calibuso, Tampa Account Manager explains “It’s the little things that Veredus encourages us to do that makes it such a great company. Atlanta team members sponsored the TAG |TechFetch Career Expo.
Shauna Corbin, Atlanta Strategic Account Executive, shares her staffing expertise on what to do at large hiring events like the TAG | TechFetch Career Expo. “The greatest piece of advice I can give to recruiters and account managers that attend events like these, is to meet anyone and everyone. Being seen, heard and remembered will help you stand out in the staffing industry.”
There were tech companies from every industry: healthcare, communications, education, government; the list continues.
The expo was designed to help end the skills shortage by connecting tech pros with companies that are hiring. Our recruiters that attended were able to provide staffing expertise to job seekers. They talked skills that employers were hiring for and how they can adjust their interview methods.
The account managers networked with the companies that attended that were looking for top tech talent. We explained to them the specialty staffing services that we provide and how we can help them match up with top tech talent.
We also held a raffle at our table, where one lucky winner, Reggie Stowe, won a FitBit.
Several competitions are hosted each month to get everyone excited and ready to break through their personal and team goals.
Veredus, a Hays Company believes that hard work should never go unnoticed. Sales Managers, Recruiters, Human Resource Specialists, National and Strategic Account Executives and the Operations all get to participate.
We might have offices nationwide, but the friendly competition brings us all together. We have these smaller sales competitions throughout the year, and at the end of the business year we host a Kickoff where bigger prizes and recognition is awarded.
Before becoming an IT recruiter, Heather staffed finance and accounting positions. She made the move to IT when she noticed that there was a demand for experienced IT recruiters. Similar to David Hubbard, Area Vice President located in Texas, she started off in a different industry. She gained experience in sales by working in sub-prime mortgage lending.
The economic status declined while she was working in mortgage lending in 2009. She explains, “I wanted to find a job where I could use my sales/phone experience and feed my competitive nature – staffing ended up being a good match for my personality and drive. I enjoy working with people and helping them to find the right opportunity for them with our current client base.”
The DC office has been growing tremendously in numbers and in success. When Heather started in the DC office there were only three staffing experts. Today, the team is comprised of 10 employees and growing! She has been able to see the business grow from the bottom up, to being one of the leading IT staffing teams in the region.
Heather says, “My goal is to help the team around me be as successful as possible. I feel great accomplishment from our team success on a daily basis. On top of that, I like to see the hard work result of money in our pockets.”
Heather expressed to me what she likes about working at Veredus, a Hays company. She likes how she is able to work right alongside the management team and how her experience with ours made her feel like part of the family. Even though we are growing, we always strive to give our staffing experts the best company culture an organization can offer.
