SQL Saturday is nationwide organization that hosts training events for SQL pros who are looking to advance their skills. This dedicated Saturday is a daylong event that provides open training for SQL Server pros and those wanting to learn more about SQL. Speaker sessions are hosted throughout the day followed by a professional mixer.
April Anderson one of our recruiters in attendance said, “We had such a great time meeting .NET, SQL & BI Developers, SQL DBA and Architects and match them to top employers who are looking for these unique skills. What’s great about this event is that the attendees come from such a niche market. We are able to drill down and give them useful advice on what employers are looking for from professionals with SQL skills. It was a great event and wonderful to see so many people excited about technology!”
Providing insights on the local job market and developments in tech really helps our recruiters be seen as industry experts and, as a result, help attract the best talent. At a company sponsored event like this, you can connect with so many jobseekers and help them find their ideal project.
Ever considered a career in staffing? Our Houston office has some of the best recruiting opportunities that will help you accelerate your earning potential.
Houston is a city with a combination of international flair and southern charm, along with loads of opportunity and a young population. The Houston office is a mixture of all.
The team is a powerhouse for taking on new specialisms. Staffing experts there have the option to delve into Oil and Gas, Construction and Property and IT.
There are lots of moving pieces from all of the specialisms, but they harmonize the three and work together to supply top candidates and deliver service excellence to hiring managers. The Construction & Property side is also established as the local market leader.
The Houston office was the 1st construction office in the US and the headcount in the office has more than doubled in size since last year. Like a great view? The team just moved to an office that’s 5 minutes from the 4th largest mall and the NRG stadium.
Jenni Scott, C&P Business Manager in Houston, says, “The Houston office is unique having started my career in Australia. The commitment, hard work and passion on display every day from the entire team. We have a great team culture and I’ve never been part of a group that works so well together with regards to attacking collective goals and providing service excellence. We also know how to have a bit of fun at one of many of Houston’s nightspots.”

We recently celebrated Customer Service Week for our operations department. Every year we dedicate a week to show our operations support staff our appreciation for making our company function at such a high level and by helping us provide our account managers and recruiters with the tools they need to be staffing experts.
Customer Service Week started off that Monday with breakfast for all the staff. Tuesday was a team effort as everyone brought in their own dish for a potluck lunch. Next up was a surprise ice cream social with a game to win a $100 Visa gift card. Thursday the group met up outside the office at a local brewery for a tour and tasting. And Friday, my favorite by far, Operations volunteered at one my near and dear charities Metropolitan Ministries.
Jessica Reed, who is a part of our payroll department in Operations, said, “It was my first year being a part of Customer Service Week and it was a great time. It’s nice to be see all of the appreciation and gratitude from the sales staff. Veredus, a Hays company truly rewards you for providing excellent service. It’s events like this that really make us stand out.”
Thank you operations for all of your hard work and support.
Find out what makes this a great place to work.
The first half of the function was a presentation that covered the issue of the skills shortage in construction. Do you know what the main challenge faced by construction companies is? It’s the quality of available candidates. This is where being a staffing expert can help. Recruiters can support the talent gap by matching skilled construction professionals with the company where they fit best.
New York City FC hosted the second part. They explained how beneficial it is to build winning teams in sports and in business. The key to constructing a successful team starts with instilling the right mentality, discipline and work ethic. To do this you must work alongside your team to recruit, train and motivate the best players/employees you have.
Alex Powell explained, “Networking events are great for company recognition and building connections, but I like how it can be taken one step further by providing the attendees, whether they are hiring managers or jobs seekers with information that they can take away. Giving them a current overview of the US construction market along with your staffing expertise allows account managers and recruiters to open the conversation on how you can help them in their current roles.”
Working with other organizations, like New York City FC, can give you a unique component when working with job seekers and hiring managers. It’s events like this and partnerships that helps differentiate you when it comes to offering your staffing expertise. It’s great that you can provide a value added service by providing professional staffing beyond just matching jobs and candidates.
