Washington, DC the capital of the United States, home of all three branches of the government; congress, the supreme court, and the President, has been developing into a tech hot spot over the past few years. Our team in DC has been reaping the staffing benefits ever since the city was labeled by Forbes as the country’s #1 new tech hot spot in 2013 due to a 21% increase in tech jobs between 2002 and 2013.

Although the DC area is generally known for politics and government services, the tech industry is expanding every day leading to new jobs. The Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development has labeled DC as a growing tech hub, outlining several key initiatives such as the waiving of corporate income tax for the first 5 years, new-hire wage reimbursements, and relocation credits, to help persuade major tech companies to relocate to the city. Along with these major company initiatives, the city also has a Digital DC Tech fund, and another fund supporting women in tech, that both have undoubtedly aided in the intense growth of the industry in DC.

Opened in April of 2011, the DC office is located at Tyson’s Corner, only a short train ride from the White House. With the increase in demand for staffing in the IT industry, our DC team has only expanded over the past 12 months with the intention to continue expansion to keep up with the increasing demand. Managing Director, Michelle Berlin sees the DC team as “a close group that wants to see their teammates and themselves succeed!”

If you’re into politics, culture, or the arts, the city will blow you away with incredible museums, landmarks, libraries, and historical monuments such as the famous Lincoln Memorial and the world’s second-largest library, the Library of Congress. If the arts and history are not your thing, DC is home to some amazing restaurants, an exciting nightlife, and several professional sports teams across all of the major leagues; Wizards (NBA), Nationals (MLB), Capitals (NHL), Red Skins (NFL), and DC United (MLS). No matter what your interests are, Washington DC has something for everyone.

If you’re interested in taking advantage of one of the top tech hot spots in the US, and bringing your talents to the nation’s capital, apply today!
